It’s Time To Get Back In The Dating Game After A Breakup

You’ve been moping for weeks. You’ve had a ton of Chinese take out and gallons of Ben and Jerry’s. You don’t know when was the last time you had your hair done. Don’t you think it’s time to start living again? Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and find a decent hairstylist. It’s time to go out and have fun.

Nobody said fixing a broken heart was easy.

And neither is putting your self back out there and risking another heartbreak. You feel vulnerable and weary, especially if the hurt is new and still raw. However, in the long run, it’ll harm you more if you get too scared and wrap yourself in a cocoon, never intending to leave. Life has its aches and pains, but it also has flashes of bliss. It is these flashes that make everything worth it. That said, your main purpose for your first dates should never be to find a new love. You should be more focused on just having fun and meeting new people.

You have to set things straight from the get go and make it clear that you’re not looking for a serious relationship. This fact should be clear not only to your date, but to you as well. You might get tempted to form a relationship from one of your first dates, but always remember that rebound relationships seldom last. It might be fun for a while, but soon you’ll have to deal with another heartbreak.

So, why date if you’re not looking for a commitment?

A lot of people think that the only reason why women date is that they’re looking for a husband. That’s not true, of course. So why not prove them wrong and explore what’s out there? Have fun. Go out with a guy for no reason except he smells good. Or his haircut looks nice. Or he speaks with that sexy accent you just adore. You don’t have to stick to a specific plan or rules when you date. Date whom you want for your own reasons. You’ll eventually find this so empowering and will improve your views on dating.

You don’t have to do what people expect you to and date because the guy is a perfect husband material. There are a million other reasons to go out and have fun with someone. Try dating someone despite the fact that he’s not really the type you want to be married to, and you might be pleasantly surprised and find that he is the perfect guy for you.

The world works in mysterious ways, right?

Get back out there, start dating again, and discover new and wonderful things about men and what you do and do not want in a husband when the time comes.
